By entering your name and email address in the 'Subscribe Now' box you are agreeing to let us contact you primarily for the purpose of informing you and keeping you updated with regards this event. You also agree to let us make public ONLY such basic information as you have agreed to share i.e. ONLY your Stall name, basic address details (Street and house/flat number), your own description of stall contents, and any other messages or information you state you wish to send to visitors, so as to let them know where your stall is and what you will be offering.

We take your privacy and data very seriously and will NOT share your information (other than the limited data mentioned and only for the purposes described in the above paragraphs) which you have provided us with any other person(s) or third parties.

(This Privacy and Data Protection statement has been composed with careful reference to current Data protection legislation and has also been provided to central Labour Party for their advice and approval. All references in the above to 'we' ,'us or 'ourselves' refers to the organisers of this event who all hold officer positions in the local 'Finsbury Park Labour Party', and it will be ONLY they who will handle any data or communicate with any participants of this event).

GENERAL:

​

1/ *Although it is not a legal requirement, for the sake of openness we wish to ensure that any members of the public buying anything from a stall that is giving all or some of the takings to Finsbury Park Labour Party are aware of such a fact.

Therefore, after you subscribe to run a stall we will email you with a notice that you MUST print out and clearly display on your stall (or if you are unable to print such, you can request one from us).


2/ We will also be visiting all stalls on the day to ensure that such obligations are undertaken.

3/ Be responsible about noise, litter, traffic and your conduct towards your neighbours and customers at the sale.

​

4/ Where to set up your stall:

Stall holders will only trade in private land such as their own (or a shared) front/back garden, hallway, room or any other communal space.

They should not set up or obstruct any public highway ie. a highway which any member of the public may use as a right.

​

5/ Dealing with Waste:

Stall holders will be responsible for the spread of any litter from the site that is directly attributable to the stall.
Stall holders shall also ensure that any unwanted liquids are not disposed of into the public sewage directly outside their stall.

WHAT YOU CAN AND CANT SELL:

​

1/ Don’t sell, list or allow any sale of illegal items, such as illegal drugs, copyright infringing material, fake goods, firearms etc

Comply with any laws that may apply – for example, if your description of your goods are inaccurate or false, you will be obliged to give a refund or replacement or reduce the price to reflect the misdescription or misrepresentation.


2/ Alcohol - It is a criminal offence to sell or supply alcohol to the public unless you have a proper licence to do so, and it is also an offence to sell or supply alcohol to anyone under the age of 18yrs.

3/ Don’t sell, list or allow any sale of pornographic material.

​

4/ Only sell items that are in good repair and meet the relevant EU safety standards.

​

5/ Electrical goods – do not sell electrical goods unless the item has come from a reputable recent source.

​

6/ Food – Do not sell any food that is unfit for human consumption (unless it is being sold as animal feed).
Do not sell food that is past its expiry date.
If you sell homemade food, make sure that you have prepared your food to the appropriate hygiene standards.

7/ Clothes – Make sure nightwear meets flammability requirements.

Avoid selling items if their source and/or safety are uncertain, for instance, children’s coats with hood cords that can pose a hazard.

​

8/ Toys – Check toys to make sure there are no sharp points or small parts that can be pulled off.
It will help to provide the original packaging, so that instructions on usage or intended age of the user can be provided to the purchaser.

​

9/ Cosmetic products – Some ingredients are regulated and, if seals are not intact, the items can become contaminated.
There are many controls over what can and cannot be sold.

​

10/ Stolen goods – Handling stolen goods can attract greater penalties than the theft.
If you sell stolen goods, the buyer is entitled to their money back from you, not the thief.

​

11/ Toy and ball bearing (‘bb’) guns – Sell or buy imitation firearms responsibly.
It is an offence to sell an ‘imitation firearm’ to a person under 18 and for a person under 18 to buy one.
Apart from a few exceptions, it is also an offence to sell ‘realistic imitation firearms’.
Guns that are obviously toys – for example, due to their unrealistic look or size – can still be sold with no restrictions.

If you are unsure about any gun you wish to sell, you should seek further advice from the police.

OTHER DANGER AREAS

Be cautious when you sell any goods listed below.All of them have their own safety standards when sold by traders and you should have them checked carefully before you even think about selling them. Also check if there are any restrictions regarding to whom you may sell them (e.g. children or minors) :

  Any Knives, Blades or offensive weapons.
  Prams, pushchairs and child safety seats.

  Oil, Gas or Paraffin lamps or heaters.

THIS IS NOT AN A COMPLETE LIST OF ITEMS YOU SHOULD AVOID OR MUST TAKE CARE WITH WHEN SELLING.

IF IN DOUBT, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, AND IF STILL UNSURE THEN SIMPLY DO NOT SELL SUCH ITEM(S). 

INDIVIDUAL STALLHOLDERS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SUITABILITY SAFETY AND LAWFULNESS OF THEIR SITE AND WHAT THEY SELL. THE ORGANISERS CANNOT IN ANY WAY BE BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENCES ARISING FROM THE SAFETY SUITABILITY OR LAWFULNESS OF ANY STALLHOLDERS SITE OR WHAT THEY CHOOSE TO SELL.
